Theo was the best part of the book that had me laugh out loud and swoon all the way through. Kate Meader's heroes are always the most wonderful men. It's the heroines that sometimes give me a bit of a headache and this was the case with with military veteran Elle in the beginning. She couldn't admit that Theo was one of a kind, charming, upbeat, openhearted and just adorable. This would have been a dealbreaker if it had gone on for too long but - and here is what Kate Meader did totally right - Elle couldn't resist Theo's charm and enthusiasm and alpha maleness. He smelled like naughty nights and comforting arms and dumb jokes and the guy who had all the answers. When their supposed one night leads to an unexpected consequence (dude, did you guys check the expiry date?) Elle gets to know the overprotective, tender Theo. And that Theo is irresistible even for prickly Elle. Their chemistry sizzled off the pages and while they took their time to let their friendship grow into more at some point in the story I started to love them as a couple. Theo softened Elle's edges and I started to see why he wanted her. He proved to her that he could compromise and that she could trust him. “Theo, I didn’t expect this. I didn’t expect you.” This surprise pregnancy story was really well done - with this hero's medical history there was a possibility for lots of angst but no - there were light moments (courtesy of a hilarious Theo) and some emotional ones, because both Theo and Elle wanted to be loved for who they were. I always look forward to reconnecting with characters from Kate's previous books so naturally I was excited and happy to see Violet, Dante, Cade and all the other beloved characters from the Chicago Rebels. I thought Instacrush was very well balanced and super-fun to read. “That’s what you are for me, Ellie. True north. My heart and home. The place I’ll always return to.”

This is book two in the Rookie Rebels series, a spin-off from the Chicago Rebels series, and reunites us with two obviously-going-to-start-something non-couple from the background of book one's story, Elle Butler, army buddy of Levi Hunt's, and now bartender at the local team's bar, and Theo Kershaw, chatty sunshine defenseman with the bubble butt. And let me tell you, both of their backstories took me kinda by surprise. And let me tell you, both of their backstories took me kinda by surprise. This would've been an easy story to keep light and focus on the I-want-you-but-won't-admit-to-it element that Elle had in regards to dealing with Theo. Instead we get a rockier history to Theo's life, both with his upbringing and then with a major health scare, plus Elle's got a lot of reasons for her toughness and walls; and they aren't limited to just being in the army. I'll admit her backstory was interesting because it was different, particularly for a sports contemporary romance, but there were also elements that felt a little unbelievable, much more in line with the soap opera storylines that a few of the players enjoy so much, and in general I felt Elle's character arc to be less consistent. Whereas Theo was a joy and his ups and downs felt very true to form and appropriate to some of his growth. Additionally there's a plot element to this romance that is not my favourite, nor in how they were made to approach it, but. It didn't piss me off, either, so, win? What might have been my favourite part, beyond Theo and his Thirsty Instagram Stories, was catching up with all the familiar faces. I loved where some of their lives had gone, what they were doing, and I'm hella keen for Gunnar's story as that's clearly being set up for book three. I expect tons of angst and I want it. Particularly after this rather sugary book. Give me angst and feels. This isn't quite the awesome, dying seconds of overtime goal kind of winning story, but it was a fun way to pass a sunday afternoon. And I am keen to read on, so, another win. --- This review can also be found at A Take From Two Cities.

This was so much fun to read! I don't think the smile ever left my face, and there were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments thanks to Theo's hilarious and utterly charming personality. He was the perfect hero in every way! Full of witty banter, smokin' hot chemistry, and tons of heart, INSTACRUSH is one of my top reads of 2019. Meader continues to kill it with her hockey hunks, and I can't wait to read the next one!

Okay. So. I’m just going to need a minute to process all the ways I have fallen hopelessly, helplessly, wholeheartedly in love with Theo Kershaw. Good. Gracious. This guy. I mean, as if being a hunky hockey god with famously glorified superglutes wasn’t enough, he was also funny and sweet and so wonderfully steadfast in his feelings for Elle. He was the perfect balance of incorrigible flirt and swoonworthy romantic with just a smidge of growly alpha for good measure. He was perfection. Absolute Okay. So. He was the perfect balance of incorrigible flirt and swoonworthy romantic with just a smidge of growly alpha for good measure. He was perfection. Absolute perfection. I loved how his relationship with Elle evolved. I loved how he lightened their dark moments. I loved how he loved her. I also loved how real it felt. I was frustrated with Elle sometimes, but what I particularly loved about how this story played out is that Theo was frustrated with her sometimes too. And he let that be known, pushing her when she needed to be pushed and providing a soft place to land when she needed that from him too. He was everything and I adored him beyond measure. And – in the end, I adored Elle too. She was a much tougher nut to crack. But once she opened her heart, it was impossible not to cheer for her and her inevitable happily-ever-after with Theo. The pacing of this story was just perfect – their burn somehow slow and sizzling even as it flamed brightly early on. It took them a while to finally get on the same page, but I never felt frustrated with it. Ms. Meader took the time needed to sort through all the emotions and baggage and clear the room in their heart so they had space for each other. And, frankly, it was lovely. On top of that, the banter between them was an absolute delight – witty and sparky and full of chemistry. Insta Crush was such a fun read. It felt light and flirty even as it tackled some decidedly serious emotional conflict. It was perfectly balanced, engagingly told, and I could not be happier (or, honestly, more in love) with this story. ~ Shelly, 5 Stars

Theo’s story was so much MORE than I was expecting! He’s such an extrovert and wears everything on his sleeve, but his deeper emotions, bossiness, and protective instincts came roaring out when it came to his feelings for Elle and their unexpected bundle. I admit, I simply adored getting to the core of what made Theo tick! Elle was the polar opposite of Theo. Introverted, holding her feelings close to the heart, and kind of lost on what to do with her life. So what made them gel together? Elle Theo’s story was so much MORE than I was expecting! Introverted, holding her feelings close to the heart, and kind of lost on what to do with her life. So what made them gel together? Elle could be just as bossy and protective of Theo, and everyone knows never to rile up a mama bear... Their romance was quite the push and pull from Elle, but when the sparks start flying and everything is aligned.... yep, these two were pretty combustible. And a few of those hilarious sexy moments-I was totally in stitches! I swear, Kate Meader has the market when it comes to banter! Sexy, sarcastic, emotional hilarious...take a pick! Theo and Elle’s conversations took on a life of their own, becoming a wickedly fun flirtation and eventually turning into deeper, edgier depths. I was swept away by Theo’s super sweet, larger than life personality and I was sympathetic to Elle’s emotional insecurities. Granted, Elle could be frustrating when she dug her heels in-frequently- however, it was easy to see what she couldn’t. I really loved the parenting advice/conversations/horror stories of birth moments of the Chicago Rebels team members and also enjoyed catching up with quite a few of them, especially Dante and Cade;) Basically, I loved Theo and his ‘Superglutes’ self and seeing him working towards his HEA was one wild and satisfying ride! I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Basic math: one cinny roll of hockey player hero with fabulous glutes + one prickly, secretive heroine +cute ONS + surprise pregnancy = cute, if middle of the road, romance. Theo Kershaw has been the easygoing, sweet guy with great hockey talent, but a brain aneurysm derailed his plans, ending up on the Chicago Rebels hockey team as a comeback kid. He’s adorable, the opposite of broody, and his sweetness is a contrast to Elle Butler’s cranky demeanor but I dig that. Speaking of, Theo’s been digging on Elle since the first book, so when I saw this book come out I snagged it right quick. This is one of those romances that I enjoyed but had the potential to be so much more. The story was a little disjointed, and while the psychological damage inflicted by their parents is interesting, there’s not enough follow through. I liked their chemistry, but it couldn’t make up for a dependence on repeating the same refrain “I’m not good enough for him, oh wait she thinks I’m not good enough for her” instead of focusing on their legitimate emotional issues, and then it wraps them up fairly quickly right at the end. There’s decent humor and I happen to like the ‘verse Ms. Meader has created here with the Chicago Rebels, so I could look past this and go along for the ride. This was just….fine. It wasn’t the top tier for me, and it wasn’t the bottom either. Just nice. But if you’re in the market for just an easy read with a bit of humor, heat and sweet, you may enjoy this more than I did. **purchased** For more reviews, visit

With Instacrush, Kate Meader provides a sweet, sexy and fun addition to her Rookie Rebels series showcasing the ever optimistic NHL defenseman Theo Kershaw and the only woman who’s been able to resist his magnetic charm. After surviving a life-threatening injury, Theo developed a voracious appetite for life. He’s back on the ice better than before and his Instagram feed is full of fun and sexy material everyone loves. Except, his gorgeous and grumpy neighbor who’s shown him nothing but aloofness. He’s back on the ice better than before and his Instagram feed is full of fun and sexy material everyone loves. Except, his gorgeous and grumpy neighbor who’s shown him nothing but aloofness. Until he catches her home alone on Christmas Eve and tempts her with homemade brownies and his too drop dead gorgeous smile. Ex-military Elle Butler has a big time crush on the “hockey god, grocery thief, and possessor of the finest @$$ she’d ever ogled” but would never admit it, much less act upon it. Even though the man with the best derriere she’s ever seen is constantly flirting with her. But their Christmas Eve party of two gives them a gift that will tie them for life, will her secrets and past encumber any future they might have together? The attraction between Elle and Theo was wonderfully fun and kept me engaged from start to finish. I loved both characters, but especially Theo with his swoony, fun, sexy and thoughtful antics. “…I like dinosaurs.” “How could I forget those dino-brief?” “And how could I forget your mating call?” He cupped his mouth and yelled, “Teee-Rexxxxx!” He’s a total sweetheart who wasn’t necessarily looking for a family, but once the opportunity presented itself he was all in ready to shower them with love. I just loved how much love Theo was willing to give, be patient and show Elle her worth. And as characters go, I pretty much loved every single one Kate included in this exciting hockey instalment from Theo’s grandmother who is such a great person, super fun and loving, to all his teammates and especially their partners whose wisdom was invaluable. The next book in this series can’t come fast enough! “The men must be test, their balls of steel forged in the hell-fire of their pregnant womenfolk’s fury,” Violet intoned before she added with a grin, “Cookie?” Instacrush it is book #2 of the Rookie Rebels series by author Kate Meader. It is a standalone hockey romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending. I loved Theo He is just so kind, loving, understanding, loyal... and probably way to perfect, but that's part of the perks in romance. Elle Butler spend 4 years in the army and is currently working as a bartender at a sport bar but she's no hockey fan. And as much as Theo's killer smile and overly enthusiam is too much for her, it doesn't stop her from ogling his fine shape on his daily Instagram feed. He's as open about his life as she's secretive about hers. But on a very sexy Christmas Eve, both give in it to the attraction and 6 weeks later, an other kind of gift take them by surprise. For Elle, the biggest surprise comes from Theo, who take the news like a champ and declare his intention to be there all the way for the baby and for her. But the young woman has many reserves, who all have to do with her past. She doesn't want to hurt him but doesn't realize that shutting him out will do that to him . But Theo is a patient and tenacious man and he'll do everything he can to prove her that just like in hockey, you're only stronger if you're a team player. In the previous book, we already met Theo "Superglutes" and had a glimpse of his verbal sparring chemistry with Elle. I'll admit, I misjudged him as a little bit shallow but he was still funny and I trusted Kate Meader to make me like him when his turn would come. I was right to have faith because Theo surprised me more than I expected. He kept his cocky, attention seeker attitude, but he easily showed that he was more than that and a great role model and an endearing man. Even if I could understand Elle's way of thinking and defense mechanism, I thought she was tough on him (with not believing in him enough) for too long. But at the same time, it made him shined brighter, if that makes sense. And the scene when she stood up for him to his dad was one of her shining moment too. I'm a big fan of the Chicago Rebels series so of course, I had fun revisiting the characters and seeing how they reacted to Elle. I also like the nod to Instagram and influencers😏.

Theo "Superglutes" Kershaw went from lovable super pest to one amazing hero when this author started digging below his surface of charming mayhem. Theo kept a steady stream of surprises coming as he showed himself to be a man of substance and far from the superficial man he had been labeled by many. Elle Butler carried the world on her shoulders as she did everything she could to distance herself from her past, effectively cutting herself off from any real relationships as she hid her secrets and shame. Despite Elle's seemingly detached front she was extremely vulnerable making for an interesting character in her contrast. Ms. Meader managed to keep Theo's optimism and humor going even in his darkest moments offsetting him beautifully with the wonderfully dry Elle. This relationship was so fun to watch develop. This author's scenario of less than worthy parents producing two upstanding humans was a nice touch to her unexpected pregnancy plot. As this couple made their own perfect family it was hard not to laugh even while choking up with the depth of sentiment and the power of their emotions. Theo was impossible to not like and his sunny disposition shed light on the private and easily misconstrued aloof Elle turning them into one fabulous couple. Theo and Elle were appealing independently but together they were irresistible. Kate Meader knows her way around tricky relationship problems and did so with finesse in Instacrush. Showing what lies beneath the surface of her characters with genuine kindness is a specialty of this author. She always manages to offset serious with lighthearted as a natural progression, finding room for both traits to live side by side in her portrayals. Instacrush will turn into instalove for Kate Meader's audience thanks to her wonderful writing! *I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.* *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

Mainly because Theo Superglutes Kershaw is just that, a gregarious, optimistic, extroverted drama queen who grabs life by the cojones with the big heart of a enthusiastic toddler. But that’s the thing, Theo is the sun (which a heroine is usually expected to be), who thus absolutely brightens the world yet overshadows anyone else in his orbit. As he did in the first book. And which kinda happens to Elle throughout the book. That is also what she worries about the most, not the attention but the fact that she can never measure up to Theo. I’m being unfair (as we often are to heroines), but I’m sadly not as big hearted as Theo either. Elle’s past baggage makes her insecure and circumspect about all her life choices, and with good reason. That adorable goofball Theo however, steals the spotlight in every scene (except for original Rebel Remy, who completely steals the one line scene he’s in, Cajun god that he is), dazzling the reader constantly with his charm and sheer cinnamon roll-ness, and that’s not even my favorite type of hero. I had a smile on my face for most of the book, because it’s basically like a shot of endorphins for your system, that will also make you go Awww at an alarming frequency. Theo’s perfection was challenged a bit towards the end, proving he was a mere mortal after all, but he rose above it magnificently as well. And all was well in Rebelsland. At least till we get Gunnar Bond’s story, which is sure to trample my heart.

Theo, the hero here, knows how to work it, folks. Whether it be flashing his million dollar smile, nailing the Chicago Rebels hockey puck in the opponent’s net, or just coming across as Mr. Happy Go Lucky on instagram, this guy has it going on. But behind the hockey mask, famous, handsome face, and cocky, carefree facade is a damaged heart secretly yearning to be loved unconditionally. Elle isn’t even close to wrapping her mind around the situation she soon finds herself after giving into Theo, the hero here, knows how to work it, folks. Elle isn’t even close to wrapping her mind around the situation she soon finds herself after giving into temptation with Theo. Her family baggage weighs heavy enough on her she’s always looking over her shoulder expecting to be sucked back into their drama/lifestyle. Both of these destined to be together lovebirds long for a real family that can be their soft place to fall. It just takes one of them longer than the other to let go and surrender unconditionally and completely to love. Theo was my favorite part of this romantic tale. I loved how he didn’t hesitate to go with the flow and stepped right up to the plate immediately. In fact, this mountain of muscle wouldn’t be swayed. He was all in from the get go. Elle, despite a touch here and there of knuckleheaded notions, was a really good person, too. As usual, this author’s writing flows seamlessly and gets quite steamy at times. Overall, I enjoyed getting to know Theo better, who’s been in previous books, and Elle’s character, as well. She was sassy, strong, and resilient, yet her vulnerability made her reluctant to give herself credit for deserving a HEA. One thing I know for certain is if you want to score an entertaining romantic read, let Kate Meader make your day. Whether it be in the kitchen, on the hockey rink, fire station, or court room, she has it going on. You owe it to yourself to check out all her series: Hot in the Kitchen, Chicago Rebels, Hot in Chicago, Laws of Attraction. She seems to nail it perfectly each and every time. Romance Safety Gang: (view spoiler)[ Theo’s been celibate for quite awhile. There is brief mention a couple of times of a failed relationship for Elle in the past. No OW/OM drama, no love triangle. It's been awhile for Elle, as well. Kate has a knack for creating delicious, utterly lovable heroes and she did it again with Theo Kershaw. He’s funny, open, sexy, sensitive, caring, and smart in his own way. Pairing him with Elle Butler, his opposite in many ways - private, shy, fiercely independent- was an inspired choice. I enjoyed the way they navigated their differences to get to their eventual happy ending even though at times, I shouted at Elle for keeping secrets and at Theo for being so perfect. It’s perfect for the season.

Theo Kershaw was an absolute delight to read, his unfiltered chatter, friendly and hilarious banter and his pleasantly surprising sensitive insight is what makes him an amazing character. What follows is a lot of secrets and standoffish behaviour from Elle and a relentless attack on her heart from Theo. Elle has had a difficult upbringing and she is constantly trying to atone for her part in it... will Theo give her the home and family she has never felt worthy of or will her independence and stubbornness be the cause of her own downfall. A brilliant addition to the Rebels series and I can’t wait to read about Gunnar.....however I have a feeling it isn’t going to be anywhere near as lighthearted as Theo and Elle’s entertaining journey. I was excited to receive an arc from the author and happy to leave a review 😊

OMG! I loved this book! This book has all my requirements for a great sports romance: hot hockey player; humor; steam level through the roof; and finally wonderful characters. What I loved most about this book was Theo. Theo is kind, caring, a little goofy and hot. In the prologue, you learn that Theo was a rookie playing for an LA hockey team when he has a near fatal brain aneurism. After 18 months of rehab and 6 months of working out, he is back on the ice with the Chicago Rebels. Realizing OMG! I loved this book! Realizing that he has a second chance at life, he enjoys it to the fullest and shares his exploits on Instagram. Elle is his neighbor, and roommate of his teammate. Elle secretly watches Theo’s posts, but gives Theo grief in real life. Of course, they eventually hookup, and Elle’s past threatens to keep them apart. There were so many times I yelled at my iPad “Elle, just tell him the truth!”, but if she did, this wouldn’t even be a novella, it would be a pamphlet. This is a great addition to the Rookie Rebels series and I cannot wait for Gunnar’s story! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am seriously in love with Theo Kershaw. When he arrived on the pages of Good Guy, I knew he was special. I just didn't know how special. Theo Kershaw is a lucky man. He’s lucky to be able to play a sport he loves. He’s lucky to have the friends that he has. He’s lucky to have a grandmother who adores him. But more importantly, Theo Kershaw is lucky to be alive. Two years ago while playing a hockey game in front of thousands, Theo suffered a ruptured aneurysm that should have killed him. With his grandmother's steadfast support and his determination, Theo was able to recover. But he's a different man from who he was two years ago. Now a defenseman for the Chicago Rebels hockey team, Theo seems to have the world in the palm of his hands. Theo loves to talk and flirt, God does he ever. He's a smart man, but people for whatever reason look at him and tend to think he has no brains. While that isn’t the case, Theo uses this to his advantage. Elle Butler is something of a mystery. A few months ago, she showed up unannounced at the door of Levi Hunt. The two meet while Levi was in special forces and Elle worked as a support staff member. Levi and Elle are close, so when she says she needs someplace to lay low, Levi doesn't hesitate to let her stay with him, no questions asked. Levi even goes as far as to make it clear to his teammates that Elle is off-limits. When Theo opened Levi's door and greeted Elle, it was lust at first sight. Theo made it his mission to flirt with Elle every chance he got. But he knows the rules. He can never cross the line with Elle. He just has so much fun with her snarky attitude towards him and their back and forth jabs at each other. What Theo doesn't know is that beneath all the snarky comments, Elle is harboring a secret crush on him. She even makes sure to watch his daily Instagram posts. Theo likes to barge into Levi's apartment across the hallway, watch TV, and raid his refrigerator. On Christmas Eve, he decides to give Levi the unexpected present of restocking his fridge. Theo believes that both Levi and Elle are away for Christmas and he plans to make the delivery quick before he heads to Michigan to be with his grandmother. But to his surprise, Elle is still there and reveals that she doesn't really have any plans. Theo sensing Elle’s sadness makes her breakfast, which turns into lunch, which turns into dinner which turns into the two sharing one hot steamy passionate Christmas Eve together. Six weeks later, the two discover that their day of passion resulted in a little hatchling. And this is where Kate Meader’s Instacrush gets real. I've already said that I loved Theo. What happens on the pages of Instacrush made me love him even more. Theo is kind, loving, caring, and surprisingly protective. He’s easy on the eyes, but he also has this inner depth which he hides from everyone. Elle, as I stated is a mystery. She has a past she's trying to make up for and a future she's trying to establish. She doesn't want anything from Theo and she definitely doesn't want anyone to know they're having a baby. The fact that Elle seems to be clouded in mystery really drives the story and makes the coupling of these two even more special. Instacrush is the second book in the Rookie Rebels series, which is a spin-off of the Chicago Rebels series. The book does contain a spoiler to Wrapped Up in You, a Chicago Rebels novella. However, I truly believe Instacrush is a standalone read. If you like surprise baby storylines, this is a must-read for you. Wait. Who am I kidding? Instacrush is a Kate Meader book that already makes it a must-read. The hero for the next book, Man Down, makes an appearance in Instacrush. I can’t wait to read more about him and meet the woman who captures his heart. **Received a copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed.**

Instacrush was everything I thought it would be and so much more! Theo comes across as this happy go lucky, fun loving guy and he is much there is so much more to him. He is so protective of the people he cares about and his Ellie is top of that list now! Ellie super independent and puts up some walls but Theo doesn't give up! Loved the cameos from the old favourites and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would!

Theo can put things on pause when needed, “we’re heading to the airport now, so I’ll take a raincheck on the phone ***. See you tomorrow?” Even though it's not out loud, the man knows when he's wrong, "she was right. He was overthinking this, trying to be respectful when the most respectful thing he could do was honor her wish to be banged in a bar. Ladies’ choice." I liked this book, I loved Theo the man was just so attentive to his woman.

This book was completely delicious, and I loved it so much!! I can't get enough of these Rebels! Theo Kershaw is a happy-go-lucky guy. He not only survived a brain aneurysm, but he's thrived, and found his way back to professional hockey again. He also has a sunny outlook, and his mind moves fast, as does his mouth. He not only survived a brain aneurysm, but he's thrived, and found his way back to professional hockey again. He also has a sunny outlook, and his mind moves fast, as does his mouth. His new nickname is Superglutes, for his extraordinary backside, for which he struggles to buy pants that fit properly. But mostly, he's so happy to be alive that everything else is just details. He was raised by his amazing (and hilarious) grandmother, Aurora, and while he loves her endlessly, he still has regrets about how he handled it when he discovered the woman he had always thought was his older sister, was actually his birth mom. Forget about the fact that his father walked away, and never looked back. He's had a crush on his favorite local watering hole's bartender for a few months now, ever since she moved to town, but she won't give him the time of day. Elle Butler's life is a mess. She comes from a family of liars, grifters, and crooks. She decided she could no longer live like them, so she joined the military. Now, after her discharge, she's at loose ends. She's trying to avoid her family like the plague, and she needs some time to get back on her feet in life, as a civilian. She decided to drop in on her good friend Levi Hunt (the hero from book 1) and crash with him for a while. But now it's been months, and she still doesn't know what she's doing with her life. She's become a bit obsessed with Hunt's neighbor and teammate, via his Instagram feed, and his visits to the bar she works in. Though in person she gives him as much crap as possible since he seems like he's so perfect and wants for nothing. Also, she hates how much she likes him. Theo and Elle had such major chemistry right from the start, and it was so fun to watch them finally give into it. Then of course, what was supposed to be a one-time thing, turns into a forever-linked thing when Elle becomes pregnant unexpectedly. The way they both handle the news was so real and you could truly feel all that they were feeling, while they made their decisions about how to move forward. They really had a hard time staying away from each other as their connection was just so strong, and I loved that. Even beyond the bedroom, they truly cared about each other from the start. The other guys on Theo's team are always good for the comic relief, and I love catching up with them. Especially the older guys from the original series, and their wives. All the WAGs really embraced Elle and tried to make her feel included, and I enjoyed watching her learn to accept their attention, and slowly become comfortable with it. Theo really worked to make her feel a part of his world, and I loved how he was always thinking about her and her comfort. I really appreciated this couple, both together and individually, and how they were always trying to protect each other. They both have these big feelings for each other, but neither of them is willing to admit it, even to themselves. They really just made you fall in love with both of them, and want them to get everything they want and deserve. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, along with the rest of the series, and the original Chicago Rebels series too. This author always makes me feel all my feelings, while still being lighthearted, funny, and real. I loved this story so much, and I am so anxious to learn all about big, gruff, and damaged Gunnar Bond in book 3. Talk about making me feel all my feelings! I can't wait! As expected from Ms Meader, this is a well written book with a strong cast of supporting characters. There is significant overlap with the original Rebels series, but this is handled in such a way that it would be easy for a new reader to join the series. Readers who have been following the series will appreciate getting to catch up with previous favorites. I enjoyed getting to know Theo and Elle better in Instacrush. Everyone needs a Theo Kershaw in their life. He is a prime example of someone who lights up a room every time he walks in. Kate Meader has created some memorable characters, but Theo is in a class all by himself. I love this guy! I enjoyed the story. The pacing is perfect, tension is just right, and the plot kept me guessing. And it was so cleverly written, making me feel the emotions of the characters and making me feel a part of the drama. But really, it just kept coming back to Theo, the star of the story. Some of the highlights for me included Theo nicknaming the fetus Hatch (because he couldn't keep calling it blobby) due to some dinosaur underwear he had worn, and nicknaming Elle Elle-oh-Elle. And I cannot forget how the term "de-briefing" made me chuckle. Theo is described in this way: "Black, wavy hair that had clearly undergone some sort of finger-rake attack topped his ridiculously handsome head. His full, sensual lips were perfect for nothing ludicrous opinions that had invariably bypassed his brain filter. Those cheekbones must have been carved by malevolent angels determined to make every man suffer by comparison, then stumbled through the rest of their miserable lives when they realize perfection is unattainable." He was perfect, Elle observing that the perfection column in her mind for him was "getting longer than a CVS receipt--and just as annoying." Elle was snarky and sarcastic, at another point observing about her friend Jordan's skills of deception, that her actions assured "everyone present that Meryl's acting crown was not in imminent danger." Theo's grandmother is another fun character, described as "kind of like a geriatric Stevie Nicks (or just Stevie Nicks who is herself geriatric by now). Every scene that featured Hurricane Aurora (Grandma) was a fun one. She was the perfect explanation for Theo. And now I'm back to Theo, the perfect hero, with an "emotional intelligence… off the charts," a sense of humor, humility (bordering on insecurity), consideration, loyalty, integrity, honesty, courage, and (did I mention?) "ridiculously handsome." If I were creating the perfect man, I think Theo would be him.

The back and forth banter. The sizzling attraction. The laugh out loud mishaps. Meader is one author who knows how to make over the top attraction into heartwarming romance. Theo and Elle were a joy to get to know. Despite his ego and her slightly off kilter attempts at giving him the cold shoulder, InstaCrush grabs onto your heart and holds on for dear life. A totally obvious one click purchase.
