He'd heard plenty of times that his sex life was better than most guy's fantasies... He was better at sex when he was half-asleep, totally drunk and/or straight off a ten-day mission from hell than most guys managed to be even in their wildest dreams. Oh-kay. I think I need to take a break from romance. What is up with this genre nowadays? Seriously. Are you kidding me with this shit? Dominic Castillo is a Navy SEAL and a cocky SOB. Seriously. He constantly tells us how good-looking, smart, tough and - most of all - sexually skilled he is. Over and over and over and over. Then, when the love interest, Lara, comes into the mix - SHE starts telling us how gorgeous and good-in-bed Castillo is. Non-stop. Jeez Louise, I got it the first fifty times. He's hot. He's a sex machine. Got it. Can we move on!?!?! Same thing with Lara. OMG Castillo will just NOT SHUT UP about her body. She's a showgirl, and it's like: her breasts, her long legs, her breasts, her long legs, her seductive mouth, her legs... ad nauseam. I get it, she's sexy and a dancer. Got the memo. Shut up already! I mean, you expect this kind of hero/heroine body worship in romance books. Yes, I expect it. It's usually fine. But this is just UNENDING. ... And both characters are unlikable. BOTH OF THEM. I can't win here. CASTILLO Castillo is an arrogant, cocky Navy SEAL who thinks he knows the answer to all life's problems. He's also pulling this very popular sentiment, which is Dominic loved women. Strippers, dancers, teachers, nurses. He'd dated them all. His only requirement was that the woman take the relationship as light and easy as he did. For the thousandth time: This is not 'loving women.' This is 'loving sex with women.' Totally different kettle of fish. This is very prevalent both in books and real life. So many men say this to me in real life, and then I give them the side eye. I have actually met relatively few men who ACTUALLY love women. Not just sex, but women. He spouts some pretty offensive "theories" about women and female psychology in here that were making me foam at the mouth. ANYWAY. Castillo has "a real weakness" for dancers, and lucky for him, he is sent by the government to act as a personal body guard to Lara. Lara is his CO's sister. Okay. Needless to say, they end up having tons of sex. Also, near the end of the book, he pulls this kind of "I'm making unilateral decisions about your life and your future" shit that is anger-inducing (ignoring her wishes and deciding himself what's best for her), but Lara handles it very well and Weber makes it obvious that he's in the wrong, so it's okay. Actually, Weber handles this very well. Well done, Weber. ... LARA: She is a showgirl and a former Broadway dancer. She had horrible parents and is estranged from her brother. She is completely and absolutely the most beautiful and sexy woman ever, and she knows it. She uses sex and sexual attraction as a distraction, a weapon, a tool, and for manipulation and for revenge. She's working on a degree in cybersecurity. She wants to "use his body as a sex toy." Um... that sounds creepy to me. She's a moron. When Castillo shows up and tells her she's in danger, and she actually watches from a closet as goons tear up her apartment, she STILL doesn't believe Castillo that her life is in actual danger. So she fucks his brains out in a hotel and then makes a run for it - back to her vandalized apartment! - while he is in the shower. What a grade A moron. Really, I have no tolerance for this level of stupidity. What else? Oh, yeah, she calls Castillo "big boy" ALL THE TIME and it is just making my skin crawl. Please don't call him that. It's icky. ... THE HUMOR This book is filled with "humor" and "witty repartee." Those are in quotes because it's really not. Both Castillo and Lara make super-lame, unfunny jokes all the time (usually based on sexual innuendo) and then congratulate each other for being so funny and witty. Um... I hate to break it to you, but no. My eyes were rolling right out of my head. ... HORRIBLE MESSAGES Then there's some horrible messages in here. For instance, because Lara 'runs away' from Castillo after he gives her great sex - instead of thinking that she's beyond stupid when he's there to protect her - we are instead supposed to think that this is the 'edgy, cool girl who is the only match for Castillo! No one before could resist his charms!' No, she's just dumb. Two, she punches Castillo in the stomach. In a serious way. "In the future, you might want to give a girl a little credit for knowing her own mind," she advised Castillo quietly. She clenched her fists together, one wrapped over the other. Then with another deep breath, she swung sideways with all her might to slam Castillo in the gut. Damn the man, he didn't budge. He didn't even gasp. No matter. It was the gesture that counted. What the fuck? I am not okay with this. That's abusive. Weber is all like, "Oh, well, it didn't hurt him at all, he's like a 'gorgeous mountain' and it had no effect on him, because hey - big strong SEAL, 6-pack abs," or whatever. Um, I don't care. Not funny, not cute - abusive. ... DID I LIKE ANYTHING? Once a guy knew you were thinking about his dick, he was all about whipping it out as if it was some kind of conversation piece. LOL So true. :) I also really liked how vulnerable and defensive Lara was about being a showgirl, and how Castillo was just totally cool with it and not the least bit possessive, controlling, or judgmental about what she does for a living. Very sweet. ... THE SEX No, it wasn't good. I was like: o.O She calls him 'big boy' a lot, he jokingly calls her 'boss.' We have this scene: "Sorry, boss," he said, grinning at her expression. "I always wake up hungry." The sleepy shock left her eyes and she gave a wickedly delighted smile as she slid her finger over his mouth. "Be my guest," she murmured, shifting her weight to her knees and leaning forward to brace her hands on the edge of the couch. "Mangia. He wasn't a man who needed to be told twice. *Pinches the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger as if she has a serious headache coming on* Did you SERIOUSLY just say, "Mangia" to a guy whose face you're sitting on? WTF? And the sex is also very disturbing to me because for at least 2/3 of the book she's having sex with him because of two reasons: a.) she sees him as her personal sex toy and b.) she has sex with him to manipulate him or get revenge on him or prove a point to him or just to fuck him up mentally. I don't want that. I want love, or... some sort of cute feelings, or emotion, or something. "Sex as a tool to getting what you want" is NOT a turn-on for me. Castillo also ties her to the bed with rope, ignoring her protests and her insistence that she's not into that. Real asshole move. None of the sex made me excited. I was just like "..." ... The sequel to this book, Christmas with a SEAL is better than this one, although it still has it's share of problems. I'd advise you read that instead of this. Tl;dr - The sex was questionable and rather 'meh.' Both the characters were uninspiring. The plot could've been amazing - but it wasn't. I am going to read a non-romance book - The Husband's Secret - and take a break from romance for at least one book. -_- I can't win lately. 1 REAL STAR, 1 ROMANCE STAR Harlequin Blaze September 2014

This is the weakest installment in Weber's series mainly due to the fact that Dominic and Lara are not the most likable of couples. Dominic is an egotistical, self-indulgent, arrogant jerk who thinks he's god's gift to women while Lara is a spoiled, superficial and shallow tease willing to put up with his snide, misogynistic comments because she thinks he's hot. The book is a classic example of how amazing chemistry between the H/h is completely ruined by their attitudes. Dominic's patronizing and condescending view that he knows what's best for the "little woman", and Lara's numerous TSTL moments and childish tantrums undermine any romance that might develop between the two. While they do improve as the story progresses, it is a classic case of too little, too late and their annoying characters ultimately undermine an excellent premise. Hopefully, the next book will return to the charm of the first few stories.

Another amazing hot SEALs book by Tawny! I loved both Dominic's and Lara's strong personalities. I think for them as a couple to work and for the story line it worked really well! It was great to get more glimpses into the Castillo household but also into Lara's life, with her brother Phillip. It makes you wonder what had happened to make her leave at such a young age and to have Phillip the way he is.... but we get to find out more about him later this year, yay. Very good and very steamy book. Lara is a woman who knows what she wants. She's made a few bad choices along the way, but she's gotten to the point where she's almost reached her goal. She's made a few bad choices along the way, but she's gotten to the point where she's almost reached her goal. Only, she's about to get derailed again, this time through no fault of her own. Lara wanted to be a dancer from the time she was a little girl. By the time she was a teenager, she had her goal of dancing on Broadway in sight, but her snooty parents were against it. So she packed up and set out on her own, achieving her dream pretty quickly. But she does have a weakness for good looking guys who end up being bad for her, which ends up with her working as a showgirl in Reno. Her last relationship succeeded in cleaning out her savings account too, so she has decided to cut men out of her life for the foreseeable future. Enter Castillo. Dominic Castillo is on the same SEAL team as Lara's estranged brother. They don't get along at all, with Banks's strictly by the book attitude grating on Castillo's more relaxed attitude. He's especially mad right now because a minor injury has caused Mr "By the Book" to keep him off the latest mission. When the mission goes bad, Castillo is sent to protect Lara from becoming a pawn in the bad guy's game. Castillo is a man who believes that he has all the answers whenever anyone needs help, and tends to overrun others when he thinks he's right. Their initial meeting is a contentious one. Lara notices him watching her dance and has to keep control of herself because he's the type she's attracted to. When he tries to talk to her after her show, she shuts him down, especially when she finds out he knows her brother. I loved seeing her use her brains to get away from him. Their second encounter, outside her apartment, is even more so, until she discovers that he's not kidding about her being in danger. She accepts his protection for the moment, and goes back to his hotel with him for the night. There's something else going on with them though, and that's the incredible attraction between them. Lara knows she has to stay away from him, because history tells her that getting involved usually ends up with her in trouble. Castillo is trying to resist because protecting her is his mission, and distraction could get them both killed. But they discover that they just can't keep their hands off each other. Their first time together blows them both away, leaving them both shaken up. Lara convinces herself she's not really in danger and runs off while he's in the shower, and nearly gets kidnapped because of it. Castillo comes after her, because that's his mission, and also because he can't believe she walked away after what they did together. Fortunately, he arrives in time to save her, then they take off for his fallback place - his cabin on his family's land. During the week they are there, they begin to get to know each other outside the bedroom. Castillo is, at heart, a nice guy who really likes women, though he is determined to avoid commitment. He's impressed with Lara's determination to go after her goals, and doesn't look down on her for the way she is making that happen. I liked how he introduces her to his family. Seeing him with his family gives her some insight into why Castillo is the way he is. Their getting to know each other continues when he takes her to Coronado while they wait for her brother. At this point there are some big changes going on in Lara's life, as she has lost her job and apartment. I found it a little strange that she's suddenly okay with all that, just because she's with Castillo, but I figured she was just putting off facing it so that she could enjoy him. She realizes that she has fallen for him and is trying to figure out what she's going to do about it, when he shows up with her brother in tow. He's also got all kinds of suggestions for her that would keep her close to him. Unfortunately, he goes about things in the wrong way, making her think that he doesn't care enough about her to have actually listened to what she has said about her plans and her feelings about her brother. I loved seeing her stand up to him and call him on what he has done. I ached for her when she told him they were through. The ending was terrific, with Castillo fighting his feelings until he can no longer deny them. I loved his conversations with his one teammate who takes him to task about his attitude, and also with Lara's brother, whose attitude really confuses him. Their reunion at the end was really sweet as Lara nearly has to use simple words to make him realize where he had gone wrong. I loved seeing how each was finally able to understand that they were loved for who they were and not expected to change because of it. I loved Castillo's family and how they treated Lara. It was great to see them accept her as she was. I really loved her conversation with his brother Lucas about computers and security, and the impact it had on her. I loved their part in the resolution of Castillo and Lara's problems. I'm also looking forward to finding out more about Lara's brother.

I ended up reading it in just two sittings--started a few chapters one night before bed, then finished the rest the following morning without stopping. It was a wonderful feeling and I love these kinds of stories, because they're rare. Lara's a hard shell to crack, extremely stubborn, but with good reason. Enter Dominic, and everything is thrown off course. He's supposed to be protecting her, but she wants none of it. However, it's kinda hard to not let him protect her when she is clearly in danger. The longer they're together, the closer they get. The one thing I loved the most about the two of them is their willingness to accept each other no matter what. Often, people try to change people, and that just leads to underlying bitterness for the part of you that someone tries to take away. Love should change you into a better person, not change your personality. I really liked how that dynamic was brought out with their relationship. A SEAL's Fantasy was everything I could hope for in a novel, and more. Dominic and Lara are dynamite together, and I loved every minute of their time together, especially their deep conversations. And now I need to get my hands on all the other SEALs books by Tawny Weber because it's just that awesome. My Rating: Exceptional

I think that every time Lara and Dominic were put within 30 feet of each other, they had to jump each other, and then they would both get scared. However, it was the interaction of the Castillo family that stole the show for me, I loved those people, they were so entertaining and loving. I have to say that I wish we got more Lara and her brother because that is a relationship that needs to be mended as well. The fact that Lara had no contact with her family for 8 years is very deep, and that is not the kind of thing that just gets fixed. Overall, I liked the story and I will be reading the other books in the series for sure.

Dominic is a SEAL and proud to be but while on leave after being hurt. While his brothers are On a mission they need his help to guard one of their brothers that has been taken sister. Lara is a handful and she runs on him but he helps her getaway. They spend loads of time together and when things are going good Com tries to bring her together with her brother but that messes things up. They are a great couple and I loved how it worked out

Dominic Castillo was not a happy camper at missing their next mission. Little did he know his next mission was be life changing. Lara Banks learned that you had to take care of yourself in this life and was not going to allow a man to derail her from her goal. These two just what the other needed. Now they just need to figure it out!!

Dominic is a love ‘em and leave ‘em type. He doesn’t think he’ll ever find a woman he wants to build a life with, but he’s a dedicated and respectful lover so has no end of offers. Lara’s been burnt one time too many and has no interest in trying for more, but she’s a mature, sexually active adult who isn’t against using her assets to her advantage. Set these two against each other with the specter of Lara’s brother, a man neither likes much, thrusting them together and it makes for a hot and conflict-filled story. To complicate things further, her brother is caught up in circumstances Dominic can’t explain because they’re more than classified, but Lara has no reason to trust him, or to expect her brother’s situation to affect her as they’ve been estranged for most of her life. Weber’s success is in how she takes the fears and troubles inherent in the SEAL life and gives them faces, personalities, and dreams. I won’t tell you what Dominic struggles with because it is revealed in the story, but his is a subtle issue and all the more pervasive because he hasn’t admitted it to himself. There’s a lot of push and pull going on here. Dominic’s SEAL nickname is Auntie because he’s the one who advises the others. He’s always in a position of knowledge, and he understands pretty much any situation. Lara falls into the gap between “pretty much” and absolute. She has a past that has taught her many lessons, not all the right ones, and she’s not willing to make a mistake again. Between Dominic’s refusal to recognize his own problem and Lara’s determination to prevent a repeat of the past, they have a lot to work through before they can reach their happy ending. Watching these two struggle with a strong physical connection that quickly grows into an emotional one is a powerful ride. Normally I wouldn’t mention something as small as a couple lines even if it bugged me, but there is one part of A SEAL’s Fantasy that threw me out of the story. It’s a non-consensual act that requires a trigger warning. It’s behavior in a character the reader is connected with that can bring up serious history for some readers because it’s a violation of trust. The whole section is a few sentences, maybe as much as three paragraphs all told, so not a huge part of the story but Dominic brings bondage into one of their sexual encounters. She says no. He doesn’t stop. He distracts her and they move on. Nowhere else in the book does this happen, and Dominic’s respect for women is a big part of the story, but that doesn’t make this okay. I feel strongly enough about this to have reported it as a problem to Harlequin and my comments were passed to the editors. I seriously hope this does not signal a trend in Tawny Weber’s novels, because if so, I will stop reading them despite loving how she makes the characters real people with serious issues to work through. So, if you like romance with stories that look beyond just sexual and emotional attraction, where the characters are real people struggling with serious concerns, A SEAL’s Fantasy is another good entry in this category as long as the above trigger is something you can tolerate. P.S. I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

So, I Read This Book Today

Lara Price hasnt had an easy life. Growing up in what one might consider the lap of luxury, she suffers the fate of many girl children of families for whom status is everything: I didnt value much of what I had growing up, because it was always because it was always used as a stick trying to whip me into shape. Losing herself in dance from the age of three, she escapes her suffocating upbringing and runs to New York where she is doing well, until a horrific car accident steals it all away. Taken Lara Price hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up in what one might consider the lap of luxury, she suffers the fate of many girl children of families for whom status is everything: I didn’t value much of what I had growing up, because it was always because it was always used as a stick trying to whip me into shape. Losing herself in dance from the age of three, she escapes her suffocating upbringing and runs to New York where she is doing well, until a horrific car accident steals it all away. Taken in by a conman who promises to love her forever and let her run the stage at “his” casino in Reno, she instead finds herself destitute and abandoned when he takes all her money and runs. Stuck in Reno, she becomes an exotic dancer, complete with fans and huge headdresses on stage at a casino review. Determined to never be taken in again, she concentrates on college, and becoming a computer security expert. Elsewhere, her brother, Lieutenant Phillip “Sir, Yes, Sir” Banks has upheld the family line as Mr. Perfect – fulfilling all of their parents’ wishes as he attends Annapolis and becomes the leader of the SEAL team Tawny Weber has written of before in her SEALS, Harlequin Blaze collection. In this instance, it is Lieutenant Dominic “Auntie” Castillo’s turn, and Lara Price should be more than he can handle. The problem is that Lara isn’t too much to handle. Instead, when Castillo is sent to pull her away before Mexican cartel members, under the control of a Guatemalan drug lord who is holding her brother for torture, can grab her up to use as leverage against Lieutenant Banks, she at first shows a backbone – but then just as quickly folds and becomes a raving nympho, once again dropping everything, her plans and her life, to follow along after Castillo, more focused on bedtime games than standing up for herself. It was disappointing. I am all for a HEA ending, but having the female lead go from strong to wimpy in a matter of moments is a turn-off. Castillo himself has always been a focus character in the other editions, giving good advice to all, hence his nom de plume, “Auntie,” but he is also a “Man-Ho” of the highest (or should that be “lowest”?) caliber. (Playing intro music from Star Trek, substituting words, “Castillo, where every woman has gone before. . . ) There are some good parts of the book, moments where Lara actually shows backbone, standing up for herself against Castillo’s manipulation. We get to meet Castillo’s extremely loveable family which is nice – we see why he is so spoiled. Otherwise, this isn’t my favorite of the series. The ending couple of chapters were made up for a lot of the irritants in the book, as Lara comes into her own and Castillo begins to learn that he has to step up and grow up. If you have read the previous books in the series, I wouldn’t miss this one. Just because it isn’t exactly my cup of tea, if you love HEAs where the hero is a playboy who gets his comeuppance, you will love this book. I received this book from Harlequin Blaze in return for a realistic review. While this wasn’t my favorite in the series, it still keep me reading. If you get a chance, check out Tawny Weber’s other books for more strong, sexy SEALs!

Plus you know the whole hero thing works for me. So in this book Dominic is a Navy SEAL who is left home instead of going on a mission because he had a bit on an accident before they were scheduled to leave on the mission. To say he is not happy about being left at home is a bit of an understatement. But in the end, it's a pretty good thing he was left behind. One of the guys on his team is taken by a drug lord, and Dominic is tasked with finding his team member's estranged sister and keeping her safe from harm. Enter Lara. Lara, who has no intention of letting anyone push her around and barely believes anything Dominic is telling her. All she wants to do is go to work as a showgirl in Reno, so she can afford to finish get computer security degree. The premise of the book works for me, although throughout the course of the book I really didn't feel like there was enough of the whole danger element, if felt kind of like an afterthought, or just a catalyst to give these two characters a way of meeting. I didn't mind the instant attraction between the two of them, nor did I mind that they were quick to cross into the physical aspect of their relationship long before they even started to get to know each other (after all the two of them were very steamy on the page, and who doesn't like that). I did like Dominic's character. Like I said he is a hot alpha military guy, and I loved that about him. He's a good guy, he's respectful to women, and in general just wants the best for Lara. He doesn't judge her or her life. He also has a hella cool family, who I liked just as much as I liked him. To be completely honest, I don't think I have any complaints about his character. I do have some complaints about Lara. I love a strong female character. I liked even more that she was smart, more than just a pretty face. But her personality left something to be desired from me. I didn't really understand her motivations about her feelings for her brother, especially given the high risk situation he was in at the time. I also didn't like how she was kind of holier than thou, I mean she really thought the worst about people kind of all the time, and was willing to put herself in harm's way just to prove a point or get her way. I felt like she had to fight Dominic every step of the way just because she could. In the end, I did enjoy the book, and I enjoyed Dominic and Lara's chemistry. I thought there could have been a tad less in the hot and steamy and a little bit more about the danger Lara was in, but other than that, I thought it was a really enjoyable read. If you like military romances that sizzle on the page, you should check out this book.

Have you ever finished reading a book and when it comes to writing the review you are at a lost as to what to write? Well, thats me with a Seals Fantasy. I guess it's because it did not live up to my expectations. Well, that’s me with a Seal’s Fantasy. I guess it's because it did not live up to my expectations. After the high that I had experienced reading the previous installments, I was hoping that I would experience the same feeling with this title. However, that was not the case. Now, do not get me wrong. The story was not bad, but when compared to the previous installments, it fell short. The story line was ok, but I was hoping for more details as it relates to Lara’s kidnapping and by extension the kidnapping of her brother. The romance between the main characters was non-existent. They were jumping each other bones within moments of meeting each other. Definitely did not leave any time for romance. They fell in love rather quickly and I felt cheated as I believed that their interaction could have been better developed. I thought the characters were believable and it’s easy to understand why they behave the way they did. The male protagonist, Dominic Castillo is a Navy Seal and the point man for his team. He is the one everyone runs to when they need advice. He is sexy and good-looking, nonetheless I found him to be an arrogant jerk. He is full of himself and think he is God’s gift to women. He was not interested in having a committed relationship and his job provided him with the perfect excuse. Due to some unforeseen circumstances he found himself with the task of protecting his team mate and rival’s sister. Lara Banks is from an affluent family. She left home at an early age to pursue her dream of dancing on Broadway. This was done against her parent’s wishes, which led to their relationship becoming strained. She has experienced some bad breaks, however she has always been able to bounce back. She is a real fighter. I admire her strength and her ambition. The thing that puzzled me though, was her eagerness to sleep with Dominic even after all the bad experience she had with men in the past and her vow to herself to avoid all men. I guess meeting a hot sexy and arrogant alpha male will make you forget all the plans you have made for yourself. Dominic attempts at securing Lara initially provided some entertaining moments. The love scenes are passionate and sizzling hot. Overall, this was an ok read. It was not my favorite, but it has not deterred me from wanting to read the next installment in the series. NB. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Considering he thought that Lieutenant Phillip Banks had no repercussions he was less than thrilled. Once he assures his Team that he’ll babysit and protect Lt. Banks’ sister from the bad guys everything shifts. Lucky for him Lara Banks is no wallflower and doesn’t take kindly to the notion of a temporary babysitter. Lady luck is at the moment on Lara’s side. It’s instant attraction for both and in Dominic’s mind that’s not part of the mission. Will she let him make sure that no harm comes to her? Will he give in to the lusty feelings that he’s suddenly consumed with every time he sees her? Will she let go and allow herself the chance to take charge and show him what she’d like to do? Lara might be a showgirl but her dreams extend beyond the bright lights and grittiness of the Casino life. But thanks to life's many turns he is now called upon to a mission of a different sorts for one of his team mates-locate and protect the sister while they rescue her brother kidnapped. Of course this will not be your average dust and dry mission but one that will having us readers enjoy what will really go into this mission. He has his work cut out for him because she is one feisty lady with goals and purpose in mind so when he shows up to tell Lara it is for her own good thanks to her brother the fight is on. This author takes you along their adventure to stay one step ahead of the goofers who want to take Lara to use against her brother that is mixed with comedy and heat. She has such a spunky personality where he is just as spunky with determination to protect and complete said mission. Since they are both available and their is a instant spark they will also have a mission that will require friction from them both once they give up they fight. He ends up taking her to his place near his family that there alot is disclosed about themselves to each other as they relate in and out of the bedroom. Found it funny that even after his team mate and her brother is rescued he still wants her around. She has her own dreams though that will require him also accepting her for who she is. Enjoyable reading especially their banter when they are together. I do so like the part of her and her brother finally making strides of sorts. Just when I thought though he was not quite so smart this seal gets it together in time when they meet up for that wedding where this story started in the first place. I seem to be one of the few people who have not read any of Tawny Weber's other installments and yet after reading this I probably won't rectify that. This was NOT a love story it was a "you could be kidnapped or killed but let's jump into bed (read jump him on the floor) cause that's what anyone does in an emergency" story. There is no love only what comes across as lust which seems to work perfectly for love 'em and leave 'em Dominic and exactly what Lara says she doesn't want. As for the "steamy" love scenes, they were dry and formulated and rather confusing...I didn't realize until later in the story that the "first" time was actually a "twofer". She doesn't trust him to tell her the truth about the risk to her life but she'll have sex with him just because it's been a few months since her last encounter? Then she just up & leaves and the only reason he's mad is not because she's risking her life but that she dared walk out on the great and mighty Dominic?!?!?!? No wonder she keeps getting stranded by ex's. And of COURSE his family adores her and accepts her unconditionally. Then despite her sticking to her guns this time and not getting involved she lives for a month with him in a hotel with no plan??? When she does run she runs to his family and they let an almost complete stranger move into his house while he's gone, and not tell him. Hello Glen Close & Fatal Attraction anyone??? Let's not forget the glossed over back story as to why all of this was necessary in the first place, completely random and unbelievable. And as for her relationship with her brother, the whole family thing was just as bad as the rest of the story. It was so badly related that it seemed more the complaining of a poor little rich girl more than anything else. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Lara Banks is the sister of the only man that Dominic just can’t stand. When given a black ops mission from his team, while they try to get one of their own back from a drug lord, will definitely test his patience and his ability to protect. Lara does not want anything to do with this buff military man that has just shown up claiming to know her brother and that she really needs protection from some dangerous men. The only thing that is making Lara weak is his damn lickable dimples. Reading this book was like living in the story itself. I laughed so hard at times that it actually played out like a movie in my head. Dominic trying to stand strong against his seductive mission definitely tests his ability to stay away from the sister of the man who he can make a list of all the stuff that pisses him off. Will she walk away because of a temper tantrum? If you love to read about a strong, kick-ass, highly trained, Special Forces military machine then this is a book for you. Just make sure you have your own sex machine close by. My Favorite Laughable Moment: I love when Dominic shows up to tell Lara that she needs protection. You definitely have to read the book to understand why this is hilarious.

Dominic has a large, loving family and is unable to understand why Lara and her brother are so estranged. There is plenty of hot sex in this story as Dominic and Lara let down the barriers between them, even if it’s only temporarily, until Phillip is rescued. I really enjoyed the suspense in this story as everytime you think Dominic has tied up the loose ends something else happens and the woman he loves is once again in danger. Lara is smart, majoring in cyber security as she finishes her college degree, but sometimes that intelligence gets in the way of allowing anyone to take care of her, especially her brother or any member of his SEAL Team. I recommend looking forward to the release of this book in August. Lots of love, angst, and a very satisfying ending.

She knew what she wanted (to be a dancer) and when one avenue was taken away from her, she found another avenue for career (computer technology security).. I liked her brains, once she stopped being (understandably) suspicious of Dominic and how she kept her eye on her prize (finishing her degree) even as she was dodging bad guys. The romance didn't feel forced to me, which can be tricky in category-length romances, and the secondary cast didn't overwhelm the main plot. I really enjoyed Lara and the slow beginning of a relationship with her long-estranged brother. Glad I read it and happy to give it a four-gargoyle rating.

But being so close together has them in some super hot sex scenes and falling hard, which neither will admit too. The fast pace and steamy chemistry makes this a great book. The characters are great, I loved Lara's attitude and how she can take care of herself and Dominic is so sweet and sexy. I love how he tries to fix everything, even though it makes Lara mad. Great book in a great series, looking forward to the next one. I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A fun installment in the Uniformly Hot SEALs series by Tawny Weber. Dominic Castillo is a SEAL through and through; while he's not a huge fan of his current team leader, he's still a team player and when said leader is captured during a mission, he follows orders to protect the guy's sister. He had no idea that this sister would be temptation wrapped up in one gorgeous package. Lara Banks is the sister in question, and she initially doesn't take well to being told she needs "protection." She's been estranged from her brother and family for years, and she's been taking care of herself just fine. She's got a job and classes that she's committed to and doesn't need what seems like a needless disruption of her life. Lara and Dominic are good leads--interesting on their own, together obviously they're destined to make magic :) They DO make a bad choice or two, but Ms. Weber does get them back on track and this is ultimately a delicious SEAL read. Looking forward to the next!
